Yesterday, if you stayed up late and awoke early for the election
results, the day probably seemed like a blur until after the acceptance speech. When
you woke up this morning and your face felt a little strange, it’s because you,
like all of us, were smiling with a joy that comes from knowing we all
contributed to the reelection of President George W. Bush.
We did things here in Rockaway, as
Republicans, that hadn't been done in decades. In fact, we did more

At the same time, we organized a campaign
of letters to the editor in our local paper, The Wave, supporting the
President and letters printed in most of
We heard from two candidates running for the US
Senate and fellow club member Gerry Cronin who, without any support and a late
start, entered the race against Congressman Weiner to ensure he didn't run
unopposed.
During the Republican National Convention, Mike Bracci sailed the lower

We sent 652 signatures supporting and
thanking the President for his efforts in fighting terrorism, collected between
July 15th and early October, to
Thanks to the contributions of many of our
members, we placed a final full page ad supporting the President and other GOP
candidates in The Wave during the final week of the campaign.
And we all got together on Nov.2nd
to watch the election returns, cheer the President on and, generally, celebrate
Not bad for a group of neighbors and new friends
after only seven months! So let’s keep that smile on our faces and pat
ourselves on the back. We stood up when needed and in our small way
helped reelect President George W. Bush for four more years.
