Re: application for a party charter and county recognition

Dear Mr. Lynch:

On June 21, 2005, this committee met with respect to various applications for club charters from several "start-up" Republican organizations, yours included. It gives us great pleasure to be a part of Republican grass-roots efforts in this county and we thank you for presenting us with this opportunity.

First, we established a mission statement for the committee, apart from the obvious purpose of making recommendations as to the granting or denial of charters to the county chairman. Second, we implemented the uniform application and review process.

In making recommendations as to the granting or denial of club charters we will seek to establish unity between and within the various geographic and political sub-divisions of Queens County, ensure the appropriate and legal formation of Republican clubs and protect Republican Party principles on a local, state and national level.

Accordingly, we have compiled a list of items that should accompany your application. This is not to say that each item is a required or necessary part of any application. Your application will be viewed in its entirety. How you choose to operate is entirely a business decision you make. This committee will not advise you on any part of the application.

These are the items needed to complete our review:

   1) Your official contact information (mailing address, phone number, e-mail adderss and website, if any),
   2) Your regular meeting place, if different from above, and the date and time of said meetings,
   3) A list of elected and appointed officers, acting, sitting or proposed, and the duration of their terms of office,
   4) Your membership roster,
   5) Your mission statement,
   6) A copy of your certificate or articles of incorporation, proposed or actual, if operating or intending to operate as a political not-for-profit corporation,
   7) In lieu of number 6, a statement as to how you intend to operate,
   8) A statement as to which assembly district you plan to operate in,
   9) A copy of your by-laws, proposed or actual and
10) A letter of support from the incumbent district leadership (State Committeeman, State Committee Woman and District Chairperson).

It is our hope and desire to process these applications as quickly as possible, but we do not wish to impose any undue burden on your part. We understand and appreciate the fact that most of us involved in politics are truly volunteers and have other pressing obligations. We will consider these applications on a rolling basis. There is no deadline for submissions.

Sincerely
Frank Kenna, Esq.
Committee Corresponding Secretary
