Subject: Breezy Point meeting
Our Breezy meeting was attended by 31 folks, about 15 of those were Rockaway club members, this alludes well to the issue of only one club in a AD. More than half of our dues paid members, because we moved the cheese, were no shows, though we expected that. Tom Long representing the Conservative Party attended. Along with three officers from 23 rd Regular Republican Club (Ozone Park ) to support Eric Ulrich and Rosemary Duffy. The silver haired Breezy point ladies were enlightened about the Ed issue and that will be talked about at their card parties etc. Seeing as how this was our first effort, someone said that as they recall, this was a first in over thirty years that a Republican meeting has taken place in Breezy Point and that we added some new dues paid members and Tom Ognibene, Eric Ulrich and Rosemary Duffy presented their platforms for change, I feel this event a success. The room was just the right size for our group. There were no major newspaper reporters present, though Grace Mc Closkey writes a column in the Rockaway Point News and Beverly Baxter in The Wave so some press will come out of the meeting. Tom Ognibene made his case about Bloomberg not being a Republican, most of us understand that and that alone is enough, though someone later mentioned that they thought he should have spoken more about his idea’s and his agenda to fix things. Eric was the hit of the night with some of ladies present, They much admired this young man and were wishing they were a few years younger. Later drinks and discussions ended another fine Rockaway Republican meeting.
